Accommodation details

This comfortable stone cottage is fully equipped and well furnished so you will have a great holiday. There are games to play, books to read, tapes, videos and toys. We provide a cot if required - and also the highchair, baby bath, changing mat and potty. Damson Cottage has an enclosed gardens. Dogs are allowed - there are lots of good walks for them!
 
Equipment includes two colour TVs, VCR, DVD, hi-fi, microwave, electric oven/hob, washing machine, dishwasher and all the usual kitchen utensils/appliances. Bed linen, towels, duvets and pillows are provided at no extra charge. Central heating, gas and electricity are all included in the weekly price. There is parking for two cars.
 
Pubs, shops and an indoor pool are just minutes away. Then there are the lovely beaches, hilltop walks and lots of places to visit all reasonably close to the cottage.
 
Accommodation
 
Damson Cottage was built recently of local stone in the traditional style of the much older cottages next door. It has very comfortable accommodation near to the SW Coastal Path, Priest’s Way, Durlston Country Park and Swanage Steam Railway at Herston Halt. Swanage Bay View's  indoor swimming pool is just around the corner. There are fields and footpaths close by where you can walk with your dog.
 
The cottage is suitable for a family of up to six plus a baby. It has three bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs plus a cloakroom with shower on the ground floor. There is off-road parking for two (medium size) cars in line and an enclosed, southwest facing, garden.
 
The cosy lounge has a gas fired "woodburner" stove, two settees, two arm chairs, a small hi-fi with CD player, stereo 20" television, VCR and DVD player. Videos, DVDs, games, books and toys are also provided for your enjoyment.
 
The fitted kitchen/diner has a large fridge/freezer, electric oven/hob, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, the usual small appliances and a radio/cassette player. The dining area seats six. It opens onto the stone walled courtyard with a BBQ on the terrace. There is a side entrance from the parking area but note that access to the house and garden involve short flights of stone steps.
 
The staircase has two safety gates. One of the front bedrooms has a 4'6" double, the other has full size 3’ bunk beds. The rear, master bedroom has a 4'6" double, 14" TV and room for the optional travel cot. All bedrooms have wardrobes and bedside drawers. The adjacent bathroom has a shower over the bath, toilet and vanity unit. Both showers have thermostatic controls.
 
All beds have duvets, pillows and mattress covers. Bed linen and towels are provided for an easy holiday leaving you more space in the car. For families with a baby there is a travel cot, bath, potty and highchair stored away until needed. The gas fire, central heating and thick stone walls make the cottage suitable for any time of the year. The rent includes all gas and electricity.
 
A good general store, newsagent, two pubs, an Indian restaurant and Fish n’ Chip shop are nearby. You can walk in the fields at the top (and bottom) of Bell Street, on the Priest’s Way to Langton or Worth Matravers and along the SW Coastal Path. Being close to open country, buses and the Steam Railway makes it an ideal base for exploring the Isle of Purbeck. You can walk to Swanage beach in 15 minutes and ten minutes drive takes you to Studland with its long sandy beaches.
